Believing Stops Developing??

Many religions were first created to explain many of the natural phenomena we couldn’t understand. Nowadays with all the scientific innovations, we can give an explanation to almost everything that surrounds us; but religions still exist so, does believing in a religion stops a countrie’s develop??

Some how religion, maintain us stuck maybe in a tradition that doesn't help us to develop, but we need to take into account the fact that believing in something or in someone has been important.

It depends in the system or person in which you belive, an example could be Nelson Mandela, most of the people that were dicriminated in South Africa by their colour of skin belive in him. As a result of that South Africa stepped forward in the fight against racism, or the Christian realigion that laid the foundations of a new society.
