What is the real function of belief systems?

Do belief systems have a deep function in society? Does belief systems only try to support with confidence folks actions? Does belief systems aren' t just a way to give a sense to folks life? What is the hidden similitude that all belief systems have?

Belief systems do have a deep function in society, which is to determine what is wrong and what ir right to do... and that is exactly what they have in common... they show you different ways to do right things, and show you what you should not do. For example the Bible says you should not kill... otherwise you’ll go to hell. This is telling you that if you kill someone there will be serious consequences.

Dear Maria Paula, never have I seen someone with such a closed mind. Yes we all are are, or in our majority we are Catholics, but you may start thinking out of the box. Some other religions, for example the Islamics see their terrorist acts as something that their law, that is the Koran forces them to do. At last, don’t believe everything that a bible says, don’t believe that are raining cats and dogs.
