Do political parties have a good or bad effect in a country?

Political parties most of the times divide the countries population, as the different parties have different ideologies hindering each time more to get to a consensus, with the purpose to find a solution of the different issues that the different countries have.

I’m my opinion dear Andres, they have both of them. On the positive side, we can see that they gather ideas form everyone, not just forcing them to accept a type of government but letting them think about different types of aspects that could be changed. On the other hand, these freedom has lead to potential fights against political parties, and throughout Colombia’s history this had been one of the reasons of the creation of military groups against the government, like the ELN, or civil wars like the “Guerra de los Mil Días”.
