Football in Colombia

Football in Colombia is seen by many as mediocre. Stadiums are most of the time empty. Why? What could be done to improve attendance? More attendance means a club gets more money and can buy better players. Should the tournament be played like in England? (without the 8 team knock-out round, “Octagonal”, but all against all and the last 3 teams are relegated and promoted?)

First of all, the Colombian football is not mediocre. Many people are fan of one team and Millonarios, Santafe or Nacional, which are the main teams in Colombia . Other teams are smaller , for obvious reasons, they will not fill a stadium. The differences between the European leaguesfootball makes special to Colombian football, and our system to determine the winner makes the game more interesting.
