was the visit of pone francis worth it?
The visit of Pope francis was real y expensive for our country and many people sugest that this money could have been invested in something that could benefit our colombian society, other people sugest that money invested in this visit could have been lost in The hands of corruption, which side do you follow?

Welll Juan David many of the money generated by the visit of the pope was not use for the society but it also wasn't take by the corruption. That money was for private companies like Chevrolet that makes the "pope Mobil" also it generates amount of benefits for the tv Chanel's that transmitted the event.
The money recauded by the pope for the scosiety was already invested in many hospitals and city's with scarce resources. I hope your doubts get clear

I don't think you are getting the idea Nicolas. Before I continue, you should check your writing. The idea of what juan Davis is talking about is that the pope isn't really a god to make such a big thing. He is a spiritual leader that guides a lot of people, but you can't say it was worth it all that money just for 3 days. As juan David said, I think he isn't someone to say he is the one sent by God to spread his word, everybody should do it and doesn't need to believe in what someone tells him. The corrupt things aren't shown with facts,so juan David you should quote someone or show facts about corruption with this money before writing this.

Investing in the Pope visit is good
Hi Juan, I think you've got everything wrong about the money being invested in Pope's visit.Juan_David_Mejia(elpikus) wrote:The visit of Pope francis was real y expensive for our country and many people sugest that this money could have been invested in something that could benefit our colombian society, other people sugest that money invested in this visit could have been lost in The hands of corruption, which side do you follow?
As a non religious government, Colombia should not invest a cent in the Pope. However Colombia gets a profit out of the event. As said by the newspaper ElColombiano the Pope's visit will give a profit to Colombia that's bigger than the money invested in the event. This is because many tourists and visiting will spend in the event, not only in the hotel, but in other things such as food. The sponsors such as Chevrolet will also invest in this event. So not only the Colombian government will profit from this event, but the private sector will profit from this event, which as John Keynes, famous economist, said: with more consuming the economy will boost.
About the corruption thing, supposing that the profit will be stolen in part, still the part that wasn't stolen (because it was in the private sector and because corruption cannot steal all the money in the state for the crime not to be easily spotted) would be bigger than the money originally invested (supposing that it would also be stolen).
Now my question is, What is more correct? invest the money directly in the welfare of the population; or invest it to gain a bigger profit, and invest it anyways in the welfare of the population.
