Human cloning
Should scientist be allowed to clone human beings? Why? Why not? Cloning humans may be beneficial to help infertile couples have a child. It could also create a child identical to a parent (to replace a lost child - for example). It could also provide a human with replacement body parts. This could also be used to test new drugs and medical procedures. Do scientists have the right to play God?

Re: Human cloning
"The term cloning describes a number of different processes that can be used to produce genetically identical copies of a biological entity. The copied material, which has the same genetic makeup as the original, is referred to as a clone." (National Human Genome Research Institute) Firstly, we must understand there are three types of cloning: Gene cloning, reproductive cloning and therapeutic cloning. Gene cloning consists on producing copies of DNA segments; Reproductive cloning, is the definition most people know about. It consists on cloning a whole organism; Therapeutic cloning consists on producing embryonic stem cells for the creation of tissues.

I believe therapeutic cloning represents a great advance in the medical field. "It can be used in experiments aimed at understanding disease and developing new treatments for disease." The fact that it could help saving someone's life is quite interesting. However, the problem lies in it cost, and how affordable will it be for everyday people. So, in the hypothetical case, that new treatments can be developed only rich people will have access to them. in other words, it will encourage social inequality.

Is Reproductive cloning ethically correct? Absolutely not. It will completely change the meaning and reduce the value of life. It will reduce the meaning of death. How can you appreciate your own life if you can have as many copies as you want of yourself? Does it even make any sense? The biological cycle of life consists on "a series of changes in form that an organism undergoes, returning to the starting state". So, what makes it ethically correct to alter the circle and keep the organisms genetic material alive as long as it could be possible?
What about religion? We are unique and unrepeatable we must follow the purpose God designed for us to perform. God gave each one of us the soul that lies inside our corps. Genesis 2:7 "Then the Lord God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being." What kind of soul could be produced by human cloning? None.

Re: Human cloning
Is human cloning a good idea? I think that we should stop trying to make identicall "copies" of humans, i mean "copies" because we are just trying to make something natural, inatural and with nonsense. They only want to make cloning for having twins. Furthermore there are some good uses for cloning like theraupetic purpouses, making transplants or cloning cells for helping himans and other species.

I think that it is very important to know for what use is that cloning, the reazons and the people that would do it. Also it is inportant to have all the security devices and the correct equipment to use it because no everybody could do it.
