Are friends important for our lives?

Obviously they are, your Friends are not just people you talk with, are people that would help you when you are in bad situations, or that can tell you their opinions for making you feel better, so they are important to our lives, they are like a second family.

Friends are like a trip on train, some will leave the trip, others will join and the loyal ones will stay

True friends are important for our life, the other ones are just a stage in life, they will influence us either in a negative or a positive way, depending on that person and what they are up to concerning ourselves. In these order of ideas almost everyone is somehow important in our life in the aspect that they will teach us something and even though it might not be what we wanted, it can be vital at one point of our living experience. There are hundreds of friends metaphors, or similes, and emotional quotes regarding the definition of friend, some may guide on this to define whether someone is your friend or not, but I think that you should be the one who define that, is your life and your relationships so you shouldn't need of a foreign media to tell you if have or not friends and who they are, is what you feel about someone not what the society say.

But you may classify them in three stages, the first stage are the friends that are just on the good times, they just pretend to be happy for you when actually they just want what you have gotten.
