Is Latin America being negatively affected by globalization?

In my opinion, culture should be global, and specific cultures are completely partial, and therefore, in the social aspect, political decisions shouldn’t be influenced by culture. However, there is a different concept which is that of ‘identity’, and we, as a continent had developed one. Nevertheless, the current globalization of cultures has affected this identities and now, it appears we are just ‘one continent more in the world’. Latin America’s identity has been modified by the US and European cultures; has this modifications been a negative impact?

In some ways, it is, but generally not. It is affected a our culture and identity that had characterized us for the last 2 centuries, could be changed by following role models such as the american people, or the europeans. Still, globalization made an easier way for us to express our ideas and connect all the world. Now, we know most of the things that characterize a country.
