Can hobbies become professions?

I think that if you give a lot of effort it can be, what do you think?

In my opinion, it really depends on the hobby, you have to give it a purpose for it to become a job at some point. If you want to have a hobby that becomes a profession you need to be able to do it properly, not just for fun. The hobby also needs to be manageable and useful. If you have the skills try and study more on the topic, don't just leave it on what you know. Be able to push forward and look where your skill might be necessary and go there and work for it. Your hobby can probably become a profession if you push it to it.

Actually hobbies can become professions but it actually depends on the type of hobbie I have, because there are different type of hobbies that are easier to become a job, for instance when you play games and read book, for some people can be easier to become a gamer and for some otherr it can be easier to become a writteer, so it depends on the type of hobbies

I totally agree to the fact that a hobbie can become a profession, for example the case of soccer, if you have discipline and persistence you can become a professional soccerplayer

I think that a hobby can become a profession because we put many effort on it , it is in what we are really good and we love it. Make our hobby a profession can make us happy because we will enjoy the work.

Sometimes we find what we want to do for life in something that once started as a hobbie, you never know, maybe you end up spending a full-time hour lenght on something you considered only a hobbie, and personally a I believe that this can happen specially if you put a lot of effort on something that you realize you do like a lot.

In my opinion hobbies can become professions if you really like it and if you put effort in it as it can pass from a hobby to a profession. To a hobby become a profession it needs a lot of effort, because transforming something you did as a way to relax or entertain to a job that will give you money and that isn't when or where you whant.

Obviously because if you train the enough to be excellent at it, you can use it to produce you money and other things, nowadays even gaming is a profession and if you are good at it, you can earn a lot of money and doing the thing that you love.

Obviously, however a hobby is an activity or interest pursued for pleasure or relaxation and not as a main occupation, you can get very good at it and if it could provide you economic benefits besides the fact that if it is a hobby is because you like it. With effort in can become a profession.

The answer to that question is yes, and the most obvious example of this is the football. Much of the football players play football as a hobbie, but when these person is compromised with taking it to another level they can become professional players. Another example is the biking, because most of the pro's started riding as a hobbie and their talent took them to make riding bicycle their profession.

I partially agree with you Juan as many hobbies can actually beacome jobs if you pursue it hard enogh, as soccer or painting, however if a person enjoys reading they might as well be a lame writer, because a love for reading does not mean an affinity for writing; furthermore, there are also useless hobbies like rock collecting, per se its a rather dumb hobbie, and you'd have to be off your rocket in order to think, let alone, pursue a job in rock collecting.
