Do you think that technology is making us go forward or backwards?

When I said that technology is making us go forward or backward, I refer if technology is making us go backward of making us each time more dumb and lazy or is making us go forward because technology is making innovations in ourselves

I consider it to be partial. On the one hand technology helps us to obtain different amount of knowledge faster, communicate much faster between us and share ideals and thoughts around the world. and on the other, it makes us more vague and we depend a lot on them for several daily activities.
